It’s claimed that the phrase “time is money” first originated in an essay written by Benjamin Franklin, published in 1748. Still, whatever its origin, it’s an aphorism that has become common and is heard regularly, particularly in a business context.

With CLIC for XPPS Invoicing, Findan Software took a multi-hour process and transformed it into a task that takes less than 1-minute. If you add up all that time saved, that’s a lot of money!

XPPS stands for Xerox Partner Print Software. As one of the few worldwide partners to be named an official Xerox Personalized Application Builder (Xerox PAB), Findan Software was acutely aware of how time-consuming XPPS invoicing was for Canadian Xerox agents and resellers and decided to dream up a solution.

Unlike some of the other examples in the Case Studies Portfolio where clients approach Findan, the solution to this problem was a Findan Software original.

The obstacle

Manual data entry proves costly

Accounting is an essential part of business. Handling it all manually is not. 

Before CLIC for XPPS, Canadian Xerox agents and resellers faced several challenges, including having to manually enter data from their large XPPS invoices into their accounting systems. This was time-consuming, taking up to eight hours a month for some, and it was also prone to human error. After all, even the most diligent human being can make a mistake when manually entering large amounts of data.

In addition to entering data manually, agents and resellers also found themselves with the unenviable task of having to calculate multiple taxes for customers. These challenges harmed the bottom line, customer relationships and overall business performance.

Where there is a challenge, there is opportunity. With this in mind, Findan Software decided to map out a solution and seize an opportunity to help Canadian Xerox agents and resellers. 

Findan Software embraces technology and its ability to improve lives and the world, and that’s precisely what happened with CLIC for XPPS. With the development of CLIC, a desktop application, Findan ensured Canadian Xerox agents and resellers could completely automate their XPPS invoicing process.

At its core, this streamlined solution meant more efficient and accurate invoicing, but it also had several other benefits upstream. With invoices processed faster and with fewer errors, cash flow was enhanced, and costs were reduced. Xerox agents and resellers also found themselves with greater customer satisfaction.

CLIC is designed to work with several popular accounting software platforms, such as Sage 50, QuickBooks Desktop, and QuickBooks Online, seamlessly integrating with the agent or reseller’s accounting system. In addition to streamlining billing and eliminating costly errors, CLIC is also updated automatically so users can be sure they’re running the most up-to-date version of the product.

In developing the solution, Findan Software was able to showcase how it can develop adventurous solutions to the problems that businesses face. The tool’s success has provided Findan with MRR (monthly recurring revenue), and as CLIC for XPPS is so efficient, it saves Canadian Xerox agents and resellers enough that it pays for itself. A true win-win!
