The obstacle

Paperwork pile-ups hamper the hiring process

Abercrombie & Fitch receives thousands of job applications to their U.S. stores each month. Handling this substantial volume of paper-based data and ensuring timely submission to the HR department in Ohio posed a significant hurdle.

An applicant would submit a paper form to the store manager. The manager then needed to scan the application and send it to the human resources department at the corporate headquarters. Once HR received the application, the information would be manually entered into the system. It was a challenging, time-consuming process for all involved.

Abercrombie & Fitch experimented with embedded tools on their devices and attempted modifications to their existing workflows. However, these attempts fell short of providing the comprehensive solution required.

The opportunity

Simple automation at the scanner level

Since staff needed to scan the paper documents, the team at Abercrombie & Fitch turned to their partners at Xerox for a solution. With our years of experience working with Xerox and their systems, Findan Software was invited to learn more about the challenges and help find an opportunity for improvement.

HR Button revolutionizes the cumbersome task of handling paper-based job applications for new hires at Abercrombie & Fitch. The app utilizes Xerox devices and seamlessly integrates into A&F’s existing HR workflow.

With no additional training, a store manager can scan the job application and submit it to HR directly on the Xerox device. HR Button automates the data entry for the human resources department, creating a substantial increase in efficiency.

HR Button is a simple solution to a complex problem. It allows any store manager to use it without training and deliver the correct information to the right person at the right time.
