Eating the elephant*

To begin with, we conceptualize the project in one extensive overarching timeline. From there, we break the timeline into milestones, or bite-sized goals, that mark progress along the way. These milestones typically include alpha, beta, release candidate (RC), release-to-manufacture (RTM) and bug corrections. In addition to these milestones, we also identify opportunities to incorporate live demos to showcase progress, collect important client feedback and make necessary adjustments along the way. 

Defining these milestones early puts us all on the same page, creates an atmosphere of collaboration and transparency and enables us to ‘eat the elephant’ one bite at a time.

It’s time to sprint

Don’t worry; there’s no actual running involved! However, we do use sprints on an ongoing basis. Sprints are part of the agile project management methodology – an approach that is a key part of how we manage software development projects. In this context, a sprint refers to an agreed-upon fixed number of workdays, say two weeks, where a specific range of project tasks will be tackled and completed. Our team works intensively for the length of the sprint, and once one sprint is complete, we move on to the next sprint. We complete your custom software development project in a series of independent sprints. This approach allows for greater focus, increased efficiency and adaptation, regular assessment and the incremental delivery of product features as we work through your project.

Standup calls for effective collaboration

The Findan Software team features skilled individuals across multiple continents. As part of our commitment to our clients and our team, our project sprints include regular internal standup calls held at least twice a week. These calls are an opportunity for all project team members to share updates, discuss project status and identify and brainstorm solutions to any obstacles that may be posing a challenge to the project. These internal meetings are vital for enhancing collaboration and maintaining project momentum.

Empowering our team to power your project

On a day-to-day basis, our team is aware of their assigned tasks and how that work fits into your project. Our project managers provide daily oversight and support to our team to ensure they’re on track with their assigned tasks. We believe in empowering our team to take ownership of their tasks and to find creative solutions to any challenges or obstacles they may encounter. This approach has multiple benefits: it boosts creativity, enhances morale, improves efficiency and gives our team more autonomy to complete your project in a way that will truly meet the brief you have set for us.

Transparent client communication

Throughout your project, we can hold weekly calls to update you on the project status, the latest progress, any blockages or challenges we’re encountering, and what we’re doing to remedy them. We also provide weekly budget updates so you’re never caught by surprise. In short, our weekly calls offer the opportunity to go over any and all ground you would like to cover on your project. Outside of these weekly meetings, our team is available to answer your questions through email. This ensures you will be transparently informed about your project so we can navigate your software journey together.
